I run 10x3.8 dji props on 4s all the time with no problems. If you ran it hard for the whole flight then maybe, just maybe would it be a problem. My motors come down cool when running 4s and 3s packs. Mine is set up pretty heavy as well so the motors have to work to carry the weight but I have never had a problem. I have the btu module on mine and i use my iphone to adjust the low voltage settings when changing batteries. I have my 3s set for 10v for led and 9.5 for landing.

I just recently change to the DJI 1038 props, I like them a lot better and they didn't need balancing, then its settled then, I'll buy some 4s batteries.

So what's your cel voltage on the 3s batteries on the landing setting of 9.5? Seems a little low, is there any juice left for emergency manual flight? (As it tries to land on a car or in a lake, switching to manual to force it home)

My Aircraft doesn't have wings, sometimes powerless landings involve a free fall at terminal velocity, I use a broom and dustpan to take it home
