Re: Warbird picture thread

Is that the B-25 that got shot down in flames our first year, Marc? I so wish we had video of that. The aircraft suddenly started smoking from one engine, and did a slow curving descent into a bush, and then burst into flames. It just looked so perfect, we were all too busy looking for the hun in the sun, to be of much use! Sad loss of a cool plane, but what a way to go!

Re: Warbird picture thread

"Flyable" Warbirds in the hanger are Vailly Aviation Hurri with G-62, the T.F. Giant P-40 with DLE 55 and a hand launch .25 slimer spit.

Dynaflite Spit 80" ( DLE30 ) on the table along with Hanger 9 ARF B-25 (E-pwr). Will try and post some build stuff on those……………. but they are not happening fast lately.

I usually like to do something unique with finish as well……. but regularly fudge a bit. The last pic of the Hurri is just to annoy the purist as I do love invasion stripes, but JX-E
"Night Reaper" flown by 1 Squadron Czech fighter ace Flt Lt Karel Kuttelwascher DFC during night intruder operations from RAF Tangmere

I was amused with note on thread about scale like take offs………… at 36lbs, the Hurri can only make those type of take offs……lest she winds up as bits n pieces.

I didn't personalize the P-40 yet, just wanted to get a new Warbird in the sky. I can see me stripping it down and changing to a green army scheme some year if it continues to survive.

Re: Warbird picture thread

Latest addition to my warbird fleet: a micro Avro 504K kit from JingModels.com. Hoping to maiden it at our next indoor session.

This is actually a *kit* foamy, using the electronics from a ParkZone ultra-micro P-51.
