jr buddy cord?
i have made a jr buddy cord... i have a 6 channel xf 631 and a 4 channel quatro. do i need the battery in the quatro to work it off my 6 channel? in trainer mode that is....

With any JR radio system, the main Transmitter (the one controlling the airplane- in your case the 631) is switch ON, but not the slave (Quattro). When you plug in the trainer cable you will notice that the slave radio system will come on automatically but will not emit any RF signal (which you do not want in case someone else would be on the same frequency as your slave...) You still need the battery to be in the slave transmitter.
This is why you never switch ON the slave Tx. To be on the safe side you can remove the crystal from the slave Tx, just in case the student thinks that it should be ON. Louis |
