I have a funtana 50 i am assembling for E-Power

Setup will be as follows:

hitec 5485 standard digitals all around

6s 20c flightmax battery
cc bec 10amp

power option 1:
axi 4120/14 with hobbyking 190a controller (overkill I know) swinging 13-4apc
this setup pulls 41amps... or around 950watts

power option 2:
axi 4120/18 with hobbyking 190a controller or cc 85a (hv?)swinging 14-4w apc
this is running 42 amps... 960watts

i am not liking the cc 85 amp speed controller. probly just the settings, but when jogging the throttle up and down fast, sometimes it doesnt "catch" and shuts motor right off untill stick is put right back to bottom. the hk controller ran both motors fine right out of the box. the size and weight of the 190a HK is about the same as the cc 85.

I will be making a hatch on top behind firewall for battery access so as not to have to take wing off to get at batts.

Re: FuntanaX 50 Electric assembly

Yeah, so Question: How many amps will the CC 10 BEC supply at 6S lipo? Not 10
but enough for four digital servo's ?

I think there was an issue with the CC esc's on this....maybe firmware version ? Is it
a HV version ? Most seem to chose the Ice because of these issues. Let us know.

i believe the cc bec will give 6 amps from 6s, which is more than enough for 4 standard digis. the servo plug powering the reciever can only take 5 amps. i would have to have all 4 servos completely stalled to be approaching 5amps.

i am not sure of the cc esc. i have had it in the toolbox for a few years and the label is off it now,but i am sure it was a 85aHV (not ice). right now i feel a lot more comfortable with the HK esc for this application.

Re: FuntanaX 50 Electric assembly

I had the same plane. The setup I used was an E-Flight 60 400 kv and a 80 Align Speed 15-8 prop Controller running on 6s. Separate batteries for rec and servos. Flew pretty good.
