Mike:-The more people we have, the better the price I'm sure. Looks like we may have a good size group. Should be fun time.

Tony:-Will let the tread run for a week or more to get a good idea how many are interested for sure; then will make arrangements.

Question to John (JAGG) How many carts do they have at the new building?

Kartbahn Update

Hi Racers,

There seems to be a lot of interest in a karting session so I gave Kartbahn a call to see whats up.

Maximum number of karts in one session - 10. If the group is larger, the group can be broken up the same as we do in our own r/c racing heats.

The normal price for racing without a membership is $16/8 mins. The membership system is not yet up an running so all single session fees are $13/ 8 mins, which is the members price. They couldn't tell me what the membership fee for this year is going to be yet though.

They do have a group rate for 6-10 racers under their Triple Up Session which is three sessions of 8 mins for $35 taxes in and they would like a couple of days notice for that setup. So you're saving $4 off the regular fee if you were racing 3 separate single times as a member and you're saving $9 off the non-member fee and you don't have to be a member to get that rate! ( I know that wasn't worded the greatest but I think you understand )

I'm not sure exactly how many karts they have and I forgot to ask when I called...sorry. When I was there last, they had about 20 up and running with another 10 or so sitting around wating for service, batteries etc.

Yes, their transponder system is up an running so we can really see who's the fastest and most consistent

I know at least 4 people from my area who are intersted in going. We might not be able to get together on the same day or night but with a little organization, we should be able to get a group of 6 or more together by the sounds of the interest.

Could be a great way of keeping up the racing rivalries in the off season and a great way to meet new people!

Cheerio,

John

John:

Looks like 10+ and maybe even 20 people is possible and this will make for a fun time. It will probably take place on a Sunday so as not to conflict with MSC;
and also on a week oposite the Sunday racing to give them a chance also. Will let this post run for another week and start with the serious organizing.
