Re: Qaud Flyaway

was using taranis. I think the GPS did not get a good lock for the RTL to work properly. I have tested RTL so many times and it never failed before.

Thanks!

Re: Qaud Flyaway

What a bloody shame!Do you think it had set a HOME from a previous flight area or just GPS interference?APM has a non GPS mode was that unresponsive as well when you noticed it flying away from you?Maybe checking all your old flight areas it might have preferred to go to one of those instead.Let us know if you find it.I live in Durham or else Id be out helping you find it.Good Luck. When you get it back put a note on it Cash reward with tele:might improve chances-Ive placed one on all my phantoms.

Re: Qaud Flyaway

Somebody may have a drone on the backyard now and when will find that "four propeller thing" won't know where to return it. That's horrible!
Print a lot of papers and tape them on the light poles in the area. Use a generic simplified picture of a quad so that any non technical person can make the connection and hopefully will cal you! Good luck!

Re: Qaud Flyaway

Bummer. Lots of talk about gps and solar storms lately. Print your name, # and reward offer on your rigs. Most people are honest and will call the number, unless it flew through a front window. Does it autoland on low battery? It may be sitting in a field somewhere, completely OK.

Re: Qaud Flyaway

Did you have your name and phone number attached to it just in-case this sort of thing ever happened?
Hope it turns up.

Re: Qaud Flyaway

unfortunately the tag i made was still on the table. I just redid the frame and was testing. I did put some flyers in the area and hopefully something comes up.

This is definitely a lesson learned for me.

Time to print more quad frames to fund a future project .. I did not even get a chance to take pictures
