Vent holes for motor and esc cooling. Next all will be removed and the hull interior will be painted yellow to hopefully protect the interior wood.

Re: Ted Johnson Shovel nose hydro build

This is my progress so far. The frame work for my removable deck is in place with black foam to seal the perimeter. The white is floatation foam and the double plywood forward and aft is where the static and removable deck are to meet. After the sheeting is glued onto the deck area I will make the cut for the removable deck and hope and pray it comes free without a struggle. It will be heavy but as long as it looks good and goes a fair clip I'll be happy. Won't be racing it just want to play with it.

Re: Ted Johnson Shovel nose hydro build

Paint job was not good so I sanded it and repainted it with a better grade of orange paint this time. Pictures to follow in a few days.

Re: Ted Johnson Shovel nose hydro build

Mounted all the electronics. Only the speed control is water cooled I have to get a water jacket for the motor. Then again when I ran two 3300 mha batteries through it last year in another boat the motor never got warm at all but the batteries were like balloons after. Heres some pics before it's maiden I'll try and get a video of it at the pond but first I need to go get a fishing rod to retrieve it. I'll also see if I can get the video up of my last boat with this motor in it.

Re: Ted Johnson Shovel nose hydro build

I don't know how to do it so if you want to see the electronics I have in this boat work in another go to youtube and type in

driftability brushless boat

and that should work or just type it into search that may work too. The video is of an orange boat with lots of bushes around.

Re: Ted Johnson Shovel nose hydro build

Boats too heavy and takes on too much water, time to go back to the drawing board.
