Maritime Off Road Racing News - Hot off the headline news!

Insiders are providing news that we might see changes this summer for the Off-Road Maritime Points Series. This change would affect both the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick racers. As many of you know, the trek back and forth to the race tracks in N. S. and N. B. is at least 2.5 to 3.5 hours each way. There there's also the price of fuel to consider. So, special consideration is being taken to make this years Maritime Points Series much more affordable and easier to attend. Here is the proposed plan:

Maritime Point Series: 4 Races - 2 in N.S. and 2 in N.B. (The exact dates are to be determined).
N. B. Point Series - Every other weekend.
N. S. Point Series - Every other weekend.

The racing should start on the May long weekend Sunday and then every other weekend from that point. Stay tuned for confirmation on where the first race will be.

Another key point to the proposed changes is the fact that both groups now have their own timing system. Having two Maritime Point Series races should also draw a pretty good turnout being that racers will be able to plan ahead.

Being from N. B., my personal opinion is that this is fantastic. Even more with my truck consuming at least $80 in fuel to get there and back...

What do you think?

Dan.
