Easy-peasey solution.

Just desolder the battery bar between the 3rd & 4th cell in one of your stick packs and install the appropriate length of jumper wire. Voila, saddle pack!

did you overheat a cell while soldering?
Give the pack a thorough checkover and make sure all the ploarities are correct, right down to the connector.
Is it at all possible that the voltage is too low and your charger doesn't recognize that theres a battery attached? some chargers (not many) behave this way.
I'd offer you my stuff, but its a lipo brick and all my old nimh's are completely toasted.

Hey Steve I noticed that your signature is showing off the hot motors you are running in each car. Quit flashing that 10.5 brushless or people here might start to think you are a SPEED DEMON

figured it out

one of the connections was actually only connected by the flux from the initial solder. found out by taking a blade to the edge and the flux chipped away and i saw light on the other side. used a rubber band to hold the connection down and the pack tested fine. so I have to re solder one connection no big deal.
thanks to all who replied.
Narly I thought of chopping one of my stick packs but I wanted to explore all of my options and first and try to fix the battery thanks for the suggestion it is a good one

If you are not using the tinned bars it never hurts to tin the underside yourself before trying to solder them down. Here is a link to an old thread where I had a lot to say about soldering:

Enjoy!
