Is a Ryobi 28cc motor worth doing a conversion on? Home hardware has
trimmers (under the MTD name, but are Ryobi's) for $119.95.

Many of the older 28cc units have been converted and will work just fine, but the model has been superceded by first the 31cc unit, and in the last year by an improved 31cc with two rings and far better compression. That price isnt that great either.
