Ok, I will start out by saying I will have a Jeti radio before our next flying season because it is time for a new radio. I like the idea of cylinder temps. However, EGT's and air/fuel ratio would make tuning much better then cylinder temps. I run my engines a little richer that most guys because I don't chase the last .4567 rpm and the lean run can take years of off an engine.

The EM spends countless hours shaving weight at every count, (very impressively) from spending days cutting foam out of the wings, driving around Ontario to find the lightest bolts and hardware. Running tuned pipes tuned with the precision of +\- 0.001 mm on the header length to gain 0.06 hp. Now, I read that they are adding weight to have a fuel gauge, a instrument to measure fart bubbles in the gas line. Guys I can't keep up with you. I understand power to weight ratios. That is why they race Indy cars and Cruz in a Lincoln. Indy cars are bare bones with only the necessities to race while a Lincoln has AC seats to prevent sweaty arse while you take your time rolling through the turns.

Can't get a handle on the EM crew. Are they racers or old fellas with sweaty arses?

your correct! the main builders in the EM do suffer from anorexia, but i am not one of them and often take a lot of heat for have loads of wiring and gadgets in my planes!
I don't build, hate it! Love flying! Love gadgets. Once in a awhile they save a plane and totally pay for themselves about 100 times over!

How every, i am sure the plane with the most gadgetry has no more than 100g of "extra non EM sanctioned" stuff. What i cant tell you, is on my "personal brain telemetry" cant tell the difference adding 100g on 17lbs (50cc) or 26-30lbs (100cc).

I agree, if you think you can feel a 100g diff on a 50cc or big plane, you are special and probably don't need telem, cause your can probably sense the bat and fuel levels too!!! Cause your special!

I pretty sure the majority of guys saying why do we need telemetry are the same guys the thought 2.4 was stupid waste when planes were still falling from the skys on old FM technology.

I sure when some of bleeding edge guys are using the next greatest thing, those nay sayers will be also be the ones saying why do we need that stuff we have telemetry! LOL
