Re: Man Arrested For Shooting Down Drone
When being right doesn’t mean you win. Watched a video where some guy was flying around a US navy ship tied up as a monument, decommissioned and for display with his quadcopter. He was filming and it looked quite expensive as did the Futaba radio. He had a friend videotaping him flying from outside the fence. It looked like a set up where he was going to challenge and record the authorities on his right to fly his quadcopter.
Navy police show up and tell him he has to go when he argues they call the local police. Local police tell him to leave he argues with them they confiscate his quad copter and radio. He argues with them about turning everything off and putting it back in the cases to protect it. When he moves to do this they arrest him for interfering with a police officer. They throw his stuff in the trunk, him in the back seat and tell his buddy if he doesn’t want to suffer the same fate he had better gather up the cases and leave. Guy has to hire a lawyer, go to court gets the charges dropped and when he demands his stuff back the judge tells him to go to the police station and claim it. When he picks it up everything has been left on and there is damage to the quad and radio. Police claim they have no knowledge of how the stuff became damaged and in fact it may have been damaged before it was confiscated. Tough luck buddy. So what did he win??????? Dennis |
