I served as a judge in contol line speed at one of the Lawrenceville, IL U.S. NATs. On "jet speed" day, the event director told us to watch what happens all over the site, at all flying venues, when the first jet fired up. The place came to a standstill. All of a sudden we had more spectators than we had had all week total. Those of us in the timing cage put in foam ear plugs, plus I wore "muffs." As the E.D. explained, I was still going to hear it "well" because it would resonate through our skulls. I never voluteered to do that duty again! The next couple of years I worked the Stunt circles instead. Dzl

He was running on white camping gas. He got a constant ignitor from a bbq store and hooked that up to the sparkplug, and an aircompressor to the air valve, and away she went !!!!

Hi Dave
Bruce Tharpe and his dad fly things like that, does that look like Oregon to you?
Back in the day GM had a travelling show and part of it was turbine power .About 1960 they came to Semiahmoo High School and fired up a Dyna Jet in the Gym to turn a fan.Probably could't do that now.I had seen one at a VGMC meet and I stayed anyway, little bit smarter now.I don't believe MAAC allows them for RC
