Hi guys i am debating on wether getting a 33% or 35% AM yak 54. I have the money for the 35% but i am not sure if it will fit. I can go and measure but i really do not have the time since my mom goes to work with it.

Which minivan?

If you have a Dodge Grand Caravan then no problem you can go up to a 40% in those things and still have room for a 12 x 20 sunshade, right Bob?

I have a 2002 Montana, non extended version and I had figured it would fit but probably only if you made the Rudder removable. I opted for the 33% AM Yak 54 myself for this reason.

The 35% might fit with the rudder on but I had a H9 33% Edge 540 and the rudder was up between the drivers and passengers seat and every time I went to put on my seat belt I would knock it. Never did any damage but it was very annoying and it made it harder to do up the seat belt.

If you go with the 33% resist the erge to stick a DA 100 in it, try the ZDZ Super 80. Less money and near the power of a 100cc and you can put it on a canister if you want which will be half the cost of cans for a DA 100.

What colour scheme are you going for?

Are you buying from Troybuilt or Chief Aircraft?

So many questions I know but if you don't know who I am, check out my signature.

Well i decided to get the aeroworks 75cc, yes i have a doge grand caravan. I will either put a super zdz 80 in it or a Desert Aircraft 75(due late feb)! I am going to power it with a smart-fly power expander and Hitec 5955 servos.

hi there. i have a standard wheel base dodge caravan and i can fit my hanger nine 97 in 330L extra with the tail feathers on with no problem.i also have a chevy lumina apv van and it i will also carry my aeroworks qb extra 100cc 260 in it.

i have a custom trailer that will carry a 33% and 35% plane ,plus a couple of small planes.but it,s nice to have a van to be able to carry a plane and go flying without the trailer.

that's correct Jim, no problems, as long as you have removable stabs on the 40%-ers so the rudder/fin goes between the front seats.

I used to put by ( Carden ) 35%-ers ( Extra 300 and Cap-232) in no problems, behind the front seats. I put the nose in first and left the prop horizontal so it pushes up against the backs of the front seats. Still quite a bit of room between the back of the rudder and the backhatch.

I built a deck I could slide in first. I was taller than the hatchso the plane went in under it. I cut a "V" in center of the the rear end it for clearance for the vertical fin to go up into. I could then put wings and stuff on top of the deck.

A few times I actually had the 35%-er, a Midwest Extra ( 80") and my Giant Stinger all in there! Plus an overnight bag!!

DOH -- "My stupid"...who is AM ?

Bob

My last two vehicles have been stretched Dodges and they will accomodate a lot of stuff. The later versions with the seats that fold into the floor are really neat and will save your back from having to remove the seats on older models. This feature is now standard on stretched wheelbase MOPARS.

Well Bob you can't know everything you know!

AM is Aviation Models aka as TOC or now TOC-Extreme.

You can buy there products through Chief Aircraft in Oregeon or Troy-Built Models in florida. I don't think they sell direct any more.
