I thought that was implied in my response. Sorry. Yes, that's what the book says. The 4 ESC should be able to handle the payloads and 2 or 3 cell batteries.

Re: Gaui 330XS

Ahhhhhh...okay. Thanks for the info. I'll pass that on to my buddy. He asked me if he needed to change the esc's if he jumped to a 3 cell lipo...and I didnt have an answer for him. Other than....If the esc's feel really hot after a few minutes of flight...then it may be safer to put on a 15 to 20 amp esc. So far...I havent read any info saying you needed to change the esc's.

Re: Gaui 330XS

I have now about 40 flights on my Gaui330X and only one crash when a prop came off, used local store nuts to fix props after that. Two motors fell out in the crash (from 20' only) and flying again within 30 minutes. Wind up to 10mph has been no problem, range fine, has night lights and strobe on it. Lovely stable machine.

Re: Gaui 330XS

I finally received my receiver, and was able to take my first flight (hover) in my living room. I have to figure our how to control the gain from my transmitter. DX7 set to Aero mode as the book states, and the gain is In the gear channel. Does anyone know if the gain is controlled by the gear travel values in Aero mode?

I just flew my first full battery outdoors, and in windy conditions. WOW, is this thing great. I read other posts about DX7 settings, and I have decided on the following:

Airplane mode (ACRO)

D/R & Exp: both Aile and Elev at 50%, Expo 50%. Still stick movement s very minimal. Reacts quickly.
Switches 1,5,6,7 normal (throttle, gear, flap, aux2)
Switches 2,3,4 reverse(Aile, Elev, Rudd)
Sub trim all 0
Travel Adjust: Gear +40 and -40, Throttle H80 and L80

I had to give a bit of sub trim to get a very steady hover. Might remove when I try again.

All in all, I am so happy with it, that I have applied my first RCCanada sticker to the Canopy. Looks great.

I do recommend different color blades for front. I did circles a few times, and almost forgot that it is like a heli. It doesn't know MY position. I wish it did. Almost lost it, but was able to gain altitude. One note, don't try to lower it too fast. Blades are actually slowing down fast as well. There is no throttle curve like in heli mode.

I got over 10 minutes with a 3s 2200mAH 25C battery.

I'll post build pictures as well as first flight pictures. I purposely didn't put the camera stand on it. It flies well enough that I probably will very shortly.

Gilles
