I plan to keep on 40:1 iPone oil (vs 50:1 recommended), which can't hurt.... but taking it easy?????

Re: Mintor60 Testing Thread

I ran my Mintor60 for the first time last night. I'll post video later on.

I ran it 20min with a Falcon 23x8 on the test stand between idle and 3000rpm... temps were great due to the prop breeze for cooling (140-160 degrees F). Motor has a smooth idle at 1350 - 1500 rpm!

I then let it cool to ambient and started some prop testing - all on iPone 40:1 at 82 degree F ambient (65% RH) - on stock needle setting.

Falcon 23x8 - 6580rpm
Falcom 24x8 - 6220rpm

Those numbers were after tweaking needles as best possible on the stand

These numbers seem very, very low. As comparison....
DLE55 on stock muffler - 23x8 Falcon - 7090rpm
DA60 on stock muffler - 23x8 Falcon - 7700rpm
DLE55 on stock muffler - 24x8 Falcon - 6580rpm

I also found that with both props, there is a lot of vibration

Something doesn't seem correct here - power seems waay off and vibs are bad. I have a spare RCexL ignition that I'll try tonight.

Cheers

Trevor

Re: Mintor60 Testing Thread

I was just wondering how the mintor worked out. Haven't heard much these engines lately.
