In case you missed it, on another thread here on RCC, Azure also stated they would continue to stock parts for the old engines, plus, they would be stocking conversion kits to update the old engines to the new displacement.

Good on Azure and DL ; they won't leave customers out to dry.

Agreed! They're showing respect for all the DL50 purchasers that supported them from the start, unlike some other manufacturers and distributors.

I got burned by ZDZ / RCShowcase a few years ago when I bought one of their first ZDZ 50RV fresh from the drawing board...I waited 6 months for that engine! Within a year they had redesigned it to the 50 NG. My 50 RV was already obsolete, parts were not compatible, RCS was no longer stocking parts for mine, and my engine still hadn't seen fuel. Fortunately, it hasn't given me any problems.

I'm interested in checking out the DL 55cc upgrade kit when it comes out! I've got a couple of DL50s and am really happy with them so far. The older one is starting to rattle a bit, so the upgrade might be just what she needs.

Cheers,
Den

Re: DL 50 Discontinued<<<????

Yes,
DLE55 will replace the DL50
DLE110 will replace the DL100.
I haven't receive the specifications, I will let you know ASAP.
I discussed the warranty things with Mr.DL yesterday, he told me that a lot of spare parts are kept for DL50 and DL100. They will provide the parts for at least 3 years! And I also have some parts here. (My$$$)
Both DL50 and DL100 are proved to be good engines, don't hesitate to use.(I still have some DL100).

4 cyl DL220 is coming in April, it has more power and thrust than 170.
I think only a few flyer need this class engine but Mr. DL think it is a milestone of his company.

Another engine will be ready early summer. (Confidencial, but not 85)

Let me know if you have any question or suggestions.

Johnny

I agree that an 80 to 85cc single would be nice, but I'd also like to see high-quality, light-weight small displacement gas engines from DL in the 25 to 40cc sizes for the 120 to 160 sized airframes. I'm sure they could do a much better job than companies like crrc, sv, fpe, etc...these other guys are too inconsistant with their quality.

Cheers
