Well the firefighter/paramedic (retired) now comes out. PLEASE go to a Shoppers Drug Mart and pick up a FREE approved sharps container. When it becomes full, return it to them FREE of charge & pick up another. A Biohazard company will properly dispose of it. Eliminating the possibility of some unsuspecting person stepping on a tossed jar or open coffee can full of blades, etc at the local landfill.

Re: Sharps Disposal

I took mine to work and threw them in the steel scrap barrel....everything there gets melted anyway with the chips.

My Shoppers Drug Mart is accross the street, and acceptted all my fathers collected sharps and drugs.

My local landfill is in Michigan, as the surrounding communities would not accept Toronto's garbage.

Re: Sharps Disposal

I use a wide mouthed Gator Aid plastic bottle for all my sharps including needle sharps (diabetic) as well as Xacto Blades etc. When its full, I take it to the Pharmacy and they happily will dispose of them properly for me.

Taping blades etc and throwing them in the garbage is still not fool proof. A stray cat or racoon can easily rip the garbage apart looking for food scraps and your taped bundle of blades is laying on the sidewalk or street and....well just use your imagination and it could become possible.

It only takes a couple of minutes to drop them off at a Pharmacy or other approved disposal site so why not play it as safe as possible and be a safe and considerate moddler?
