Re: Filter fuel for Turbine
Dave, I have been using bulk kero from Mohawk Fuel Products and PetroCan now for many years with success and no negative comments when the engine(s) are sent in for service. A lot cheaper than CT prices but that said, to each his own. (I have been using a Mr. Funnelfor years as well)

Re: Filter fuel for Turbine
Mr Funnel is now sold at Canadian tire. I use one of these every time I fill a jug to do the final mix with oil.
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/fl...-0283145p.html As for the fuel source, i once got a big drum for free from the local university here. They were going to incinerate it or dispose of it! It lasted a couple seasons! Following that, I've used pump Kerosene for heaters. Its pumped out of the ground, and dyed red for off road use. Through the Mr funnel, I've seen zero debris contamination or water, and in ~5+ seasons I have yet to see an engine problem as a result running this stuff. I use to get it from the Country store on Whidbey island each year, but the switched out the pump for alcohol free gasoline. On my way back up from Bellingham this year though I came across another Country Store not far south of the boarder, and they sell pump kerosene! i forget the price, but even with the exchange rate it was WAY cheaper than any source I had in Canada. Those in the Vancouver area, see map below... Kelly

Re: Filter fuel for Turbine
Manpole...that hurts. Now, you see why I started asking questions to find a better way to fuel my turbines.

Re: Filter fuel for Turbine
FYI, for comparison... I went back and checked my email history. The Country Store in Ferndale Wa I mentioned a few posts ago charges $3.15US / gallon!
CT Here in BC also charges ~$30 / 10 L. Ugh...

Re: Filter fuel for Turbine
Since I go to a lot of jet events in the Excited States, I carry six old CT jugs with me and fill 'em up with pump kero when I get the chance. Last fill up was at a gas station in Sanford Maine at $2.15 per US gallon. Total of 30 US gallons for $64.50 USD. Converting to liters and CAD bucks, that's $84.00 CAD for 113.5 liters, or about $0.74 CAD per liter.
