Telespad
The newest SPAD off the line, a Telemaster SPAD! After I heard the horror of Ron's telemaster crashing during our fun fly last year ( could not watch it as I had a plane to fly, lol......taking notes Ron?!=)) I decided to build a SPAD version for Ron that hopefully will take more abuse!!
He wanted it to be electric powered, using the same system his Telemaster had. The motor is a turnigy 50-55-600. 80a esc. I plugged a 4s 5000mah battery into it and it seemed to have lots of power swinging a 12x8 3 blade prop. It weighs a hefty 6lbs, 12oz with that big battery. I believe Ron has a bit smaller of a pack to use. He plans to mount a camera which I believe the ole telespader will lift no problem with that big high lift wing. Now hurry up spring!! |

Re: Telespad
Some lessons are learned more than once! I watched a "bomb" during a bomb drop competition at a fun fly about 23 years ago. Then, I watched the candies during a "candy drop" for the kids. I did think of the aircraft, but too late to save it. One thing for sure, this hobby keeps me very humble indeed!! Bit rest assured, I enjoy every moment of it, from the scratch building to the flying, and helping others when required or asked.
Balsa is cheap enough that one can rebuild an aircraft without too much difficulty. However, it's even better when a friend builds it for you, and our of coroplast. Thanks Nathan, the Telemaster Spad will fly this summer, and it might even get lucky and last till next year!!!!

Re: Telespad
Well done, I have been thinking of a telmaster 40 in SPAD to day. Glow powered would be what I would I would be what I would use.
