Re: The Warp thread!

Compass Warp 360

Cyclic Servo: MKS DS92A+
Tail Servo : MKS DS95i
ESC : CC Ice Lite 50
BEC : WR Super Mini BEC G2
Motor : Compass 1320kv
Main Blade : Edge 353mm FBL
Tail Blade : Edge 60mm
LiPo Pack : Reaktor 1400mah 30C
Gyro : Skookum Robotics SK-720

Pitch +/- 13 degrees
Headspeed ~3900 @ 75% Flat (my motor is a prototype 1500kv)

I've been flying it for 2 weeks now. The best comparison I could give is that it flies like miniature Compass 7HV. It's stable, predictable, and has a very linear collective. It flies much larger than it's size, and the canopy gives it MASSIVE prescense in the air.

The kit is a complete scratch build, which is a departure for Compass. In previous model releases, the airframe is mostly pre-assembled.

The model features some new innovative ideas for the 450 class in that it uses a fully rigid head (no dampeners). It's very much like a tail rotor hub. The CF grips give all the dampening it needs and is capable of very low headspeeds without wobble.

The tail is fully integrated and there's an extremely low parts count on the entire model. No tail boom supports thanks to an oversized tail boom diameter. The tail rotor disconnects from the drive system allowing for easier auto-rotations than other models in this class. The tail simply weather vanes in this instance.

... lots more innovation packed into this model ...

There are 3 canopy styles available (currently only 2 in N/A at this time with the 3rd arriving soon) and comes in 2 trim levels:

1. Warp 360 Kit w/Motor & Main Blades
2. Warp 360 Kit (Airframe Only)

What more can I tell you about it? This is one of my favourite models of all time and is now also my exclusive weekly indoor flyer...

Re: The Warp thread!

I'll post my thoughts once mine is truly flyable and at its' ability to fly well. Right now I will wait for a good fitting headblock and some small parts via jeff. I can't say what I think about it right now as mine vibes like an old washing machine at moment.

Re: The Warp thread!

Mine is getting the living snot flown out of it. LOL!

Seriously guys, the more flights I put on it the more I fall in love with it. As well as the Gaui X2 flies, I'm kind of having buyers remorse because of how well the Warp 360 flies. That said, I needed a new X2 demo model for the store.

Re: The Warp thread!

Is the warp more quiet with the belt drive? How about static from all those belts any glitches with radio control? Is there any adjustments that can be done for belt wear? How about battery drain with all those belts wouldn't you have more rolling resistance? I like belt drives for scale because it opens more doors for fabrication.
