Too true Ron, too true! I put a lot of flights on that old Roo and went through a few wing tip protectors. The funniest landing I ever had was after flying up in Red Deer coming back to B.C. then attending an event on Whidby Isl at sea level. I had forgot to reset the needle on the old RAM to compensate for mbar of idle thrust. Every time I would throttle down the old Roo would just whistle on by. You would think I would have had the brain cells to just kill the engine on final but noooo..I tried forcing the landing and ended up bouncing down the mile long runway about 10 times....leaving little bits of landing gear as a went!
Got an award for the most touch and goes that weekend....lol

Re: Kangaroo Brotherhood

I still have one of the original Fibreclassic airframes (heavy!) flying. It is one of the two originally built by Gaston here in Northern ON and probably the first jet I ever saw fly whenb I was in my 20's back in the late 1990's (I am 44 now).

I last flew it at Whingham, 4 yrs ago (2010 I believe) as I missed the last two events and in 2012 I didn't have room to bring it.

It is still flying with an old RAM 750, but with all modernized servos, receiver, turbine controller etc.

If I ever get to go back to the jet events (having two kids in the last 3 years put a damper on my hobby time) I will certainly fly it again!
