Power trip.

So what do you think about this idea for an engine in a 35% Yak 54. DA 100 all equipped at 7lbs or a BME 150LT all equipped at 7.8 lbs.

Tough choice

DA-100 = Displacement:100 cc
output: 9.8 hp

BME 150LT= Displacement 149 cc
output 16.5 hp

Personally, I don't think I'd do it. All you're going to have is a plane that is tricky to fly because you'll have to watch your throttle constantly. It'll make 3D much more difficult, if you like to fly it that way. It wouldn't be too bad for IMAC, I suppose, but still...

More power isn't always a good thing, especially when it is close to twice what it was designed for.

The 35% yak is muck bigger in "SCALE" than a 35% extra or edge..i say go for it ED!...a nice 3-blade prop and BOOOM! your doing the Nasty with that plane...Poking holes all over the sky!...LOL!

Mannyh you think just like me, back in the day when I had my 69 Nova everyone didn't understand why I took out the 350 and installed a 426 Hemi but I know you do.
