Guys - Mike Karnes just shared with me that he has scheduled the NCFR judging school for April 25 / 26 in Muncie. Just in case any of you are interested in going.

Re: NCFR Judging School

Bill;

I'm going to try to put this one in my calendar. Do we get to fly at the AMA field too if we brig our plane?

Re: NCFR Judging School

Bill are you planning on attending the National Judging School in Florida in January as well?

I have been to the NCFR Judging School numerous times when Will and Mariam Berringer were running it and it is a good event to attend.

Glen yes you can fly there on the Friday before and on Sunday they do practice judging flights so if you want to show us how NOT to fly Intermediate!..... Just kidding of course. LOL!

Yes, I have been in touch with Mike K and I have applied to go to Jacksonville to become an instructor. Want to try and provide support to Rick and Don in their efforts to deliver Canadian judging seminars.

I think if I am accepted, (and it looks good at the moment) I will be looking to work with Rick and Don (if they are interested) to see if we can organize something in Southern Ontario in the winter. We have new Basic guys and a judging school would be a good thing I think.

Not sure if I go to Jacksonville whether I might get hooked into the Muncie seminar also. We know there are changes coming this year and it is important that we get up to speed on them.

Glen
I expect if you want to go down a day early you can fly Friday. Saturday is a long day in the classroom and Sunday is the practical. Although last year they finished up in the classroom in time to go out to the field and do the practical so it became a one day super-session.

It let us get up and head home first thing Sunday but I would not assume that this year as there are new changes and rules coming. They do try to finish the practical session by noon Sunday so people can get on the road home.

Actually Jim the Intermediate sequence looks really easy this year - if you hold it upside down. Can't wait to try this when no one is watching

BTW, do you happen to have any old Intermediate Unknowns lying around?

I would definitely be up for another judging school, I'd get to hear what the judges are seeing and thinking through a maneuver. I am starting to see more error's in the maneuvers now and the last school I was to was before I flew IMAC and I now have a better understanding of what to look for and school would help to tune this skill...I hope. I think I'll go through the online training again this winter to help get things seeded into the old grey matter.

Yeah except that if you do that there are some unique challenges - like flying that down "hammer" is going to be a son of a gun, the down loop with 2 of 4 (at the bottom now), but it makes the inverted roller upright again.

Maybe just bend over and look between your legs ......judges will be amused.....
