DLE20 Question

Does anyone have a rough dB level for the stock muffler that comes with the DLE20? I know there's a bunch of other variables, but just a round and about figure would give me an idea. I've read that they are pretty loud.

Re: DLE20 Question

I don't have a dB measurement, but they are pretty loud with the stock exhaust - we brought these "Muffler Silencers" in for customers that have issues with the sound levels.

Here is the link: http://www.thunderboltrc.com/index.p...x&cPath=89_187

The feedback that we have been getting on these is that they take the "edge" off the sound without taking a huge performance hit.

Re: DLE20 Question

It is really nice that dle provides something. But that something that is provided is not a muffler , it is a sound deflector. If you are asking about sound / dba then the thing provided is already too loud.

Re: DLE20 Question

I have a DLE - 20 in a Aeroworks Extra (90size) and it is loud !!! Muffler is more of a exhaust deviator then a muffler. I have to say through they have very good power .

Re: DLE20 Question

Thanks for the input guys - that's what I was worried about. But Lance Bisson tells me their muffler for the DLE20 should cut it back to somewhere between 97 and 95, so that's where I think I'll start.

Hi Mike S ; It is good news that Bisson is making a muffler for the DLE-20 .

Re: DLE20 Question

Hey - I've been sitting on a DLE20 for a year now (waiting for the ight time to install it ) and I'm rather upset that DLE would sell an engine that did not come with a muffler!

Come on! they include a 'Diverter'!?? and then offer you an add on?

Gee, that is just wrong!

Sell the engine without the muffler if you will, then have a group of options but I have never been advised that the included 'Muffler' would not 'Muffle'!

So I can visit the Bisson Clan for $100.00 or get a Silicon tube with a perferated cork for $25.00 from TBolt...

If I had known this earlier - it could have affected my decision to buy...
