Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

In an attempt to keep some building variation, I decided to give this Page Aviation 26cc GeeBee a try

I bought the kit off of Mogman here on RCC and it's been sitting here for a couple months. I've been twitching violently to get back into building, and finally cleared off some projects, so stick gluing can soon begin!!

Here is the website!!.....
http://www.adrianpage.com/14R2.html

The kit comes in 2 nice little boxes and a very detailed instruction manual. Mogman also sent me a magazine review of it.

The recommended powerplant is a Zenoah G26. That's just waaay too small for this big plane! I plan to either use my spare DA50 or I may go with a Kolm EZ50 from AMR!!
http://amr-rc.com/index.php?path=con...rque&langue=en

Game plan is to cover it in SolarTex fabric and clear the solartex for a scale look!!

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee - BBT

Check out the size of the glassed parts

That's a 12" ruler, LOL!!

The parts of very, very high quality and lots of nice detail. The massive wheel pants are 2-piece and interlock into each other.

Going to be very fun!!

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee - BBT

Very nice wood in this kit. Most of the fuse is plywood with a few pieces for the wings. The balsa selection is very nice. Consistent grain, similar weights and a nice colour.

Hardware package is all standard thread sizes, so all usable stuff

Also a full set of plans that are very detailed - one big sheet for the fuse and a second big sheet for the wings and stabs.

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee - BBT

After unpacking everything and getting my bearings (LOL), I got the 36" main wing spars started!!

I should be able to make some pretty decent progress on the wings tonight

Hey Trevor, can't wait to see this one!

I thought you went into retirement after the jet flights.

Take care, Daren

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

LOL!!!

I've had a busy month of action in the shop, but it was all ARF set-ups and finishing up a few odds and ends and getting ready for the flying season!!

It certainly was great therapy this morning playing with balsa, plywood and glue again, LOL!!

This project is going to be pretty fun!! Hot on the heels of this build will be the start of a Jet build and the AMR P51

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

Nice find on this GeeBee kit! As far as I know, they are sadly no longer available

I have always loved the funky look of the GeeBee ("function over form" just like a Hyperbipe). Looking forward to seeing this thing go together!
