the only thing I am sorry about is that I waited so long to get into a great hobby and have met so many great rc people

Welcome aboard Tinman!

Many people are late bloomers, it has much to do with the start up costs of the hobby and the need to pursue a career, tend to the family and pay all of the associated bills.

Once those concerns are taken care of... well - here you are!

Welcome to this wonderful place

I m ready to try for my wings , I m just waiting for the wind and rain to die down a bit . I was in the hobby 20 years ago , I was raceing 7.5 cc hydroplanes , when they were made of wood

. I m now 52 years young , and have already made a ton of mistakes , that was before I joined this site , it really is a fantastic place . There are a lot of really good fellows willing and ready to help you out . I know , I m one of the guys that needed help . Injoy youreself and have fun

Congrats !

A lot of work went into your training (by yourself and your teachers) but it's all worth it in the end. I know for myself, sometimes the "being there" (at the field with others) is better than the flying.

Congrats Tinman, learning to fly RC was one of the most difficult (hand eye) skills I've ever learned, and getting ones wings is anything but a cake walk.

Many of us who've been at this for years tend to forget how nerve wracking the learning process really was, I recall my antenna shaking so badly at the beginning. Following those early training sessions I'd go home from the field a nervous wreck and mentally exhausted.

The sheer exhilaration of being able to solo is a feeling you'll never forget......now go and have fun with your hard earned skills.
