Pit Hovering

At my club field, there's an open pit gravel mine literally on the far edge of the runway. Alot of people have complained about having the pit there, but on the weekend, I decided to make lemonade out of our club's lemon.

It was actually alot of fun hovering down below ground level. Also a little comforting to know that I still had 100ft under me to recover.

Here are some pics that were snapped of the flight:

Re: Pit Hovering

Hey Tommy

Picture No. 8 is an awsome view BUT I am not able to see any of the first 7 shots. Just a little box with a red X in the middle. I right clicked on it and clicked on show pic but am getting nothing.

Looks like a pretty cool site to fly in for sure! Have fun my friend!

Re: Pit Hovering

Hey Tom not sure about anyone else but all your pictures only came up as an X well red x in a square box. Well all but one . Hovering a Funtana90S with an orange snow fence off to your right . Looked good to me is it glow or electric. I have one and just sold the engine and waiting for electrics to power it they should arrive tomorrow

Re: Pit Hovering

Weird... the looked OK on my computer. I was linking to a friend's Picasa gallery rather than my own. Maybe that was the issue.

Anyways. I moved the pictures to my own gallery and updated the links. Hopefully it works now

The Funtana is electric, and now that I have it set up how I like, it's a really sweet flying plane. Power is an AXI 5320/28 motor, 20x8 APCe Prop, Jeti 90 ESC, and 10S TP 5000mAh pack.

The Dalton's coming along nicely. Up to date build pictures are available here:

P.S. If you still can't see the pictures, check here:

Talking Re: Pit Hovering

You should change the heading " Hovering the Sand-Pits Special"

Yet another "boundlessly stupid" thing to do!" - The guy who coined this phrase should trade mark it and sell T-shirts in the Ottawa area.

*Note some humor required to read the last 2 post!
