Nigel,
yes it was a static testrun on the ground and I am familiar with what you write. But nevertheless I have to be sure to be on the safe side before I get a model airborne.
BTW - I could solve the problem by turning the full-idle needle a quarter of a turn towards "rich".
Thanks!
Tilmann

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

An interesting action worthy of note. When you say "full idle" is that the "H" needle you are referring to?

I wonder where Steve has gone??

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Yes I meant the "H" needle. I will test the whole powerplant sometime next week when I will have installed the EasyStart to the ZG62. I tried hard to get it running without ES but an old man's arm gets sore after a while and the ZG62 never was a brilliant starter. This plus the fact that the belts were slightly slipping made it nearly impossible to start the engine in a decent way/time.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

I purchased a g62 with a Shlundt drive from Vogelsang here in the US. I mentioned it will be going in a GTM D.VII. When talking with him about this installation he said to be sure to install baffles to get good airflow over the engine cooling fins. All you guys at building beautiful planes. So far all I have built were some instruments. We have sold our house, and just found out today that the buyers financing went through. So really had little time to work on the D.VII

Richard go to the "User CP" link at the top of the page. I your control panel select from the menu on the left "Settings and Options - Edit Options"

In there you will see the default notification option which you can set to send an e-mail instantly.

I would have sent this earlier but I have been travelling for the past few days.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Have to admit I have had to do that myself in the past. Not sure if there is some maintenance the forum folks do that trips it every now and then.

I start sewing this week to get the covering on the model

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7

Hey Nigel/or Tilmann; Are you going with a pull-pull setup on your ailerons?I'm was thinking about going with a push pull solid rod on the bottom and a dummy cable on top but the carbon fiber control horn isn't really adaptable for that setup. How are you doing your setup?Any pics would be nice...
