I need a rocker cover screw for my FA- 45. I have seen the rocker covers listed but not the screws. Any one know where to get them.

Thanks, Rich

Re: Saito Rocker Cover Screws

The rocker covers are the same size for the Saito 50 up to the 125, but not the older 120. The 30 and 40 are different. The 45 as you know isn't listed anymore so I'll assume its the same size as the 50. Someone with both motors will see your post and hopefully let us know. I have a set of rocker screws from a 91. It could be a 2.5 or 2.6mm, with a .50 pitch. If you don't have any luck finding them I could ship you two and if they don't fit you can send them back. What happened to the original screws? Cheers Floyd

Re: Saito Rocker Cover Screws

Richard- they are standard metric thread socket head screws.
Like Floyd said- if someone has the same engine they can pull one out and measure the diameter and length.

I would suggest posting the question in the "Engine" section of the forums to ask members if someone could measure up theirs. You would get a lot larger audience of people who could help there than here in the "wanted" section. (Unless of course, someone happens to have spare rocker cover bolts handy. )

Then go to your local tool supplier and get the bolts you need.

Also if you cant get the exact size for whatever reason, get longer and just cut them down using a Dremel to the correct lenght

Let me check my engines and see if they are the same.

Ok, checked my .45 against a .56, length, diameter and thread pitch are identical. The only difference is the .45 has a Philips head and the .56 is socket head.
Hope that helps.

Re: Saito Rocker Cover Screws

Yeah, I know they are a bit odd size. A friend needs one for his 56 and I have nothing that small in my spares.

Re: Saito Rocker Cover Screws

I went for a couple of flights and noticed one was missing. After a bit more research on the forums apparently they are M2.5 x .45 pitch by 16mm long.
