Joe, I just spend 3 hours reading those threads.

Thanks for making me really tired.

Those TwinSyncs are awesome. I did enjoy the read, and "watching" the development!

Hi
This is were I got my onformation , on RCU . There is no master engine .
I want to perchase one , do some testing and put it in a DC-3 . Syncing the engines is one of the most important things on a twin . I m happy that you gentelmen looked at the thread . Question does it all make sence to you you : . It sounds , to me , like a neet thing to tinker with , hope it works though , two engines in sync does sound good , my kinda thing .

Thanks

Mike,

One engine has to be the master otherwise the two engines will hunt continuously for sync. In the instructions I have from Jomar they suggest that the weakest engine be the master that way the more powerful engine will be slowed down to match the weaker.

if you think about it this makes sense. If you have the strongest engine as the Master the slave will never be able to catch up.

Hi Jim

Jim , I m not saying that I know whay I m talking about , but apperantly not , there is no master or slave engine . I ve read the instructions ( downloaded ) and it says there is no master engine , it can senser what engine has stopped . If I underatand it s something new . I know nothing about electronics , and you seem to know , would you be most kind as to look into it . It would be most helpful I don t want to buy some thing that I wouldn t use .

Thanks You

Mike, get the Twin sync.

I really did read the entire thread. It will work alot better. The Jomar one was used as a comparison, and the Jomar one does have a "Master". The Twinsync does not.

The Twinsync looks for a happy medium. The logic used is discussed, and the guy who came up with the programming has done everything right. It has a bunch of features that are handy. You can select one engine or the other to be controlled by throttle input. This is good for starting. Start one, flick the switch, it goes to the set idle position. Then start the other, with full throttle control .

I have not ever built a twin, but I understand industrial motor control. While this is not industrial motor control, the same ideas apply. He has built in reduntancy, and looks at both motors condition before making a change. I really like the way this guy developed and designed his circuit.

twin sync

Hey Mike ,If you do get one make sure you post your progress.I have be jumping back and forth on getting this product and use the two webra 50's
I have for my b-25,or go electric. It's the cost of the lypo's packs and the wait time for recharge to fly again that bugs me.And to have a few sets of 4-5 cell lypo packs will cost way to much.
So if you get it let us know how you make out.

Joe

Hi Canhos and Snap-roll

Thanks for reading up on the Twin-sync It does sound right doesn t it . : I will most likely pick one up before the new-year , as for the DC-3 project thats a while away . It would only be perchased in the spring and would only be finished for the following summer of 2007 , so it s awhile away . It s a big project and in the high price range I woud perchase everything at the same time , build a double test stand with servo control to test the Twin-sync unite . Lots of tinkering My kind of trouble and keeps me out of the wifes hair .

Thanks a lot
