Anyone on here want to lend a hand and some more advice, i just can't get this, i can land any other type of air craft but this one on the sim, figures its the same one im getting. Haw T-45.

My flight,

I can fly around etc etc but landing it's like the second i touch down it jumps off the ground. I can fly other jets just fine and land them but this one im stumped.

Simulator is Pheonix. Jet is the Hawk trainer.

Thoughts suggestions ?

Re: Learning to Fly Jets Easy, Landing them NOT SO!!

I booted up my phoenix to try this one out and it is uniquely difficult. My EDF's are the easiest planes I have to land (just cut the throttle completely and the glide in) but this one likes to bounce. I did get it after a while and for me it was getting the throttle right. Too low and you stall in, too fast and when you land it bounces and crashes. It looks to me like your throttle is still a bit too high.

yeah i've been practicing every night, i hate the fact that turbine has such a LAG to bring on power. EDF is NOT like that at all.. BAH!

I was able to reach out to a good friend and borrow his Real flight Current version, im going to install the Habu 32 ( since i got one ) and the Hawk t-45 see if it's different on that.

^^ did you notice that the hawk tends to nose down while flying ?

Re: Learning to Fly Jets Easy, Landing them NOT SO!!

I just tried it... found I had to come in with a fair amount of power, over half stick and slightly nose high and it settled in quite nicely.

And yes, seems like I always have to hold back on the stick a bit... although I never tried trimming it.

Yes I did notice that, makes me wonder if the model was not programmed correctly...

Re: Learning to Fly Jets Easy, Landing them NOT SO!!

The jet looks out of trim, however, that turbine lag is old school. Nothing today is even close to that.

The critical mistake here is when landing the nose dropped and the nose wheel hit first. One many jets, once this happens you are committed to the death bounce and there's nothin u can do about it. Gotta get the mains to touch first and even hold the nose wheel off for a bit or you're done.

Have fun!

NO jet spool up lag ? EDF has insane quick response, good for getting out of a mishap
