Help with Gas Setup on 20cc Extra 330 Profile.

Hello,

I purchased (going to pick up Saturday) a 20cc Extra (Profile) from our friend Floyd on RCC. I have a few questions so bear with me please My number one question is what kind of batteries are some of you using and are you using one or two batteries. I use 2 batteries now with Optical kill switch for the ignition and the other of course for the receiver in my setups now. They are not profiles so there is lots of room for 2 batteries. Where do you mount the ignition to the airplane? I'm thinking of using 7.4v Lipo batteries as my receiver can take 7.4 volts. I am going to use DLE 20cc, from the manual which isn't very clear the DLE 20will run on 7.4v?? I will also purchase HV servos if necessary. Or should I stay with NIMH 6.0v, those i have sitting around. My concern with LIPO's is having to take them out of the hatch to recharge. Any kind of help with electrical set up on profile would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Re: Help with Gas Setup on 20cc Extra 330 Profile.

I have a couple profile nitro planes and a guy has a gas 20cc profile at the club. Once you get the plane you will know for sure but most have cavities in the wing to put things in. You could always contact Floyd again and ask him. Dle had two ignitions one will support 2s one won't. A 2s lipo at full charge is 8.4 volts. If you have the new style ignition 2s no problem, as for receiver 2s life battery would be good, gives 6.6volts. I run life 2s 2000mah in most of my big planes I can fly two days (5-7 flights a day) before I recharge and I still have only used 30% of the packs.

Do servos with 4.8v to 6.0v work with the 2s life batteries or is that to much voltage from the 2S?

2s life full charge is 6.6 volts, for me I've never had an issue with servos that say 6.0 volt max. I run some older stuff with older servos and have had no issue with life's as the power source. 2s lipo too much, unless you run HV servos.
