It's springtime and I'm still not able to use the airfield and I've been cooped up sniffing CA all winter.....so I'm going to rant instead....

Rant #1 Items for sale on RC Canada, $35 each or $50 for a pair, plus shipping..

Exact same item on Banggood...$20 free shipping.....

So is this the place to get rich by hosing our fellow RC modellers or to prey on new, inexperienced ones???? Seriously???

Rant #2

Sale price in headline $5.00

Actual sale prices, once opened in my slow-assed browser....FAR in excess of $5....Like not even close.

Thanks for wasting my time again....I know your name...

Rant done. Hopefully out flying soon. Happy times ahead Yaaayyy

Re: Classified Rant

Agreed. I can't believe how many times I've seen a "previously enjoyed" item for sale, only to find out that the price far exceeds the price of the item new.

Re: Classified Rant

Agreed.
Also when carrying on conversations(PMs)with someone who is interested in what you have to sell and then nothing further from them, at least let me know you're no longer interested in my item.
It's just common courtesy....not so common these days.

Re: Classified Rant

Rant 1 - some people don't want to give a foreign business a credit card number or wait 5-15 weeks for delivery. If not then they pay for the sellers shipping to them. Nothing wrong with that. In our society we can ask what we want for an item and some stuff gets bumped to the top for over a year. It's funny!

Common courtesy and common sense have left the building, not to return.
When I first joined this site I started a thread called sellers etiquette after having several strange deals with sellers. The response to my thread was a real eye opener. What I would considered good selling etiquette, is in fact not practiced by many. Get used to not hearing back from a potential buyer, its the way things are now. Lots of people are buying, but have no money to spend. Its not just this site but on Kijiji as well. Cheers Floyd

When on the other side of the fence as Dave says; don't know how many times I have had items for sale and someone said " I'll buy; get me a mailing price ( estimate range already given) find a box , do the packing go to the post office for a weight and rate , come back home , do up all the name and address stickers , PM the guy back and he says .... change my mind. Also out of the way places , Canada Post charges about 15-20% more , I am finding. There is also a minimum that Canada post charges for small parcels
and that usually starts about 14-15 dollars out west and 17-18 in Eastern Canada... just a rule of thumb as there are some variables.

And as Dave say, courtesy goes a long way.

Re: Classified Rant

Had the misfortune to run across aperson who was "interested in an article. Asked for total price c/w shipping. Packaged and had the shipping cost calculated. PMed the interested party. Heard nothing back for 13 days. In the meantime I gt another buyer and sold the item. 14 days later first party PMs me wanting my email for a e-transfer of funds. Informed him the item was sold. I got raked over the coals for selling the item out from under him when he said he would buy it. This after several PMs and no response for 13 days. I guess I'll have to make sure the buyer knows I will not hold an item for only a specified time.

Re: Classified Rant

I now only wait 24 hours before I move to the next buyer. I've lost sales by holding on to an item waiting for a buyer to complete the deal, then a week later I hear back that he no longer wants the item. After I've marked it as sold, and let everyone know that PM'd me that I sold it. Cheers Floyd

Re: Classified Rant

Another annoyance is te person who says "I'll take it, let me know the total including shipping". Go through the process and let the person know. No response. Several PMs. Still no response. Finally after 13 days I found another buyer and sold the item. 15 days and the original person comes back and want to take the item. Told him the item was no longer available, sold. Now I get in his s*&t list and get ragged on for not honoring my OK to sell it to him. ???????????????
