The Shearwater R/C Club, located at CFB Shearwater, in Dartmouth, NS, is looking to see if there's enough interest in the Maritimes and Eastern Seaboard of the US, to host a Jet Rally. We've got 10,000 of 200 foot wide runway, with 3 intersecting 1000 foot runways. Our flying zone is almost 3 miles long, and over a mile wide, ceiling is 2500 feet.

We have lots of room for RVs, camping, and a large Lake Recreation area, with beach, activities, family fun, less than a 5 minute walk down the road.

Please respond if you'd be interested in attending an event at Shearwater, and what month would be preferable. Thanks!

Re: Jets on the East Coast

it would have to be longer then a weekend event for those who travel a fair distance.

im sure if you mimic First in flight event you will see a good turn out, they fly from Tuesday to Sunday.

you have a bueatiful area for the event.

Re: Jets on the East Coast

Sadly, we're an operational RCAF Base, with Sea King Helicopters flying through the week. Best we can do is Friday - Sunday. You really don't want to hit a Sea King with a jet, they're built like tanks. Might scratch some paint off the helo, but RC Jet wouldn't fair too well!

We're hoping there's a crowd from Quebec to Nfld, and up the Eastern seaboard of the US that might find the trip worthwhile.
