As with most bipes, fly her all the way to the ground and don't stretch the glide. If you ever dead stick, straight ahead in a steep glide is the way to go. Better a low airspeed landing on rough ground than a stall 20' short of the runway....

Bad characteristics? If you're not used to short coupled aircraft it may seem a bit pitch sensitive and won't fly as true as an ultimate but she'll tumble better.
She will likely pull to the canopy on knife edge due to more drag on longer arm above thrustline (although this depends on your setup), this will also require a little down trim on the elevator (or slight positive stab incidence) when balanced correctly.

The rudder gets into dirty air on landing and may occasionally surprise you with lazy reactions but, a brief blast from the throttle will straighten things out quickly.

I like to trim my bipes with a little more negative incidence on the top wing. This makes for a more controllable stall (top wing stall retarded wrt bottom wing) but will cause slightly more knife edge pull to canopy and make your takeoff run a little longer or reuire a slightly steeper angle. That's good, it looks more realistic. With that engine you probably won't notice.

If you want to build and fly bipes, an incidence meter is a must.
