I would like to know ... why do you see so many used DX8's for sale but not so many 9303's or 9503's?
Bob ... JR 9503 ... hands down!

Cheers
Mike

The early problems pissed a lot of people off, including me. But that's been fixed now.

Re: Looking to upgrade - JR X9503 or DX8 (or maybe JR XG8)?

A couple of questions regarding the DX8 capabilities:
1. Is it possible to control multiple Gyros or at least have a couple of gains for a set of Gyros on the DX8?
2. Can I assume that spoilerons and flaperons setup is not an issue as well?
3. How many flight modes can I setup up for an airplane? - I am hoping to have a 3 way switch that will be setup to something like Normal / 3D and Landing or any thing similar, in which with the flip of one switch I the DR/Travel/Expos and mixes are linked to a specific setup.
4. Can I program any switch to any parameter?

Thanks

About the gyros, I'm in the middle of hooking up the electronics in a Canadair Dynavert with three gyros so I'll let you know. Although guys are using them in Tricopters etc.
Spoilerons etc. are no problem.
There are 8 preprogrammed wing types if that's what you mean.
There are 6, 3 way switches that are programmable.

Hold a 9503 and then a DX8 in your hands. That will dictate which to buy. IMHO

Re: Looking to upgrade - JR X9503 or DX8 (or maybe JR XG8)?

9503 is great radio but to be honest I sold mine and went to the DX8, yes it feels a little cheaper but it is so much simpler to program, and SD card back and firmware upgrades are a huge bonus for me. I also find on hot days the DX8 grips better in your hands than the 9503 with its rubber sides. The only thing I HATE about the Dx8 is the fact that it has a built in charger and the only way to charge is to supply it with a 12v supply and let it do it slow charge magic overnight ! I am going to spring for the Lipo it will stay juiced for days on end. Last note if you want to go JR and you don't own any DSMX or DSM2 receivers, you may want to wait for the new generation DMSS TX ! or Consider Futaba !

I got the DX8 lipo pack from Hobbyking. Works great. It runs about 2 months between charges and I fly a lot, being a retired old phart. I charge it with the regular lipo charger, so it only takes about half an hr. to charge.
