Where have you guys been hiding? The RedBull air Races have been around for about 4 years now.

Interesting to see how many guys were flying the Edge 540 but now it seems to be the Sukhoi Su-26 is gaining some popularity now that there are more ex Soviet block pilots competing.

This is the kind of stuff that TSN needs to show not some boring Tennis Game!

Pretty amazing videos. I can't imagine pulling 10 G's.

About 8 years ago now I did the "Ride of a Lifetime" with Air Combat Canada in an Extra 300! My pilot did a manover called a Vertical Knife Edge Up. We pulled about 6.5 G's and my vision went red! The force is increadable. These guys who do these air races are true athletes to take those kinds of continueous stresses. My hats off to them!!

After about 15 minutes of flying several different manovers, the pilot asked me if I would like to try anything special to which I answered: " Could you please just fly stra-straight and le-level for a few of mi-minutes?" He laughed and complyed!

All I can say is what an increadable machine! Can fly at about 300 + Knots Pr Hr and has a roll rate of 720 degrees per second! I took the controls for about 15 minutes and did a loop, couple of rolls, a Knife edge and inverted flight by myself. The little 152 Cessna I flew privately just wasn't the same after my jaunt in the Extra 300.
