Can anyone tell me what your club charges in new membership fees and yearly dues? I was quoted $400.00 to join and $175.00 per year. What are your thoughts on this ?

Depends on the club and its fanatical circumstances. The area needed to fly our models will be the same be it a low or high club membership. Keeping that in mind if the rent and upkeep are high then the dues will be higher and if the membership is small the cost per member will be higher. Not all clubs and their circumstances are equal so it’s hard to compare one club to another.

Dennis is correct, it's hard to compare one club to another as every club's financial obligations are different. Given that you are in Victoria BC and land is a zillion an acre the price is not bad. I believe the local club just relocated to a new site not that long ago too. It is what it is and if you wish to fly you must pay. Personally I would pay "anything", just so I could fly.

Some avid golfers spend a lot more than that per season to shoot a few rounds, think of it that way.
