Does anyone have one of these?

I couldn't imagine luging this thing around.

Re: Lipo locker

Wow, that video is a little painful to try and watch. 12minutes to explain a container?

Can't see myself ever lugging one around, but it is a fairly clever system that I might use in a shop someday. For now, an ammo can and a brick is probably a lot cheaper.

Re: Lipo locker

Ammo can for me, too. Then I can just carry all by batteries to the field in it as well.

Re: Lipo locker

"ammo can and a brick" - I use an ammo can too for storage and transportation, but what is the brick for?

Re: Lipo locker

I know it's an old vid, but it just shows the clever minds at work to make our hobby a little bit safer. I think I would just blow up all my batteries just to see it work.

Re: Lipo locker

um, a concrete block in the trunk of your car, maybe drywall ends

drywall is 80% water and will resist fire for quite a long time as the water boils off

Re: Lipo locker

Just realized, that is probably chimney flue pipe and a plastic bag of sand.

German flue liner:

Re: Lipo locker

I purchased a fireproof document safe at Staples for about $45.00 and it will hold around 20 large Lipo batteries. I use it for storage at home.

When it's really hot like today I take them to the field in a cooler with a couple of ice packs covered by cardboard. It keeps them nice and cool on 100 degree day.

Well, when I say "ammo can", I really mean "cookie tin" and I use the brick to weight down the lid since I don't trust it to stay shut if something does happen in there.
