Losi Mini T

Ok..so I'm thinking about buying one of these....but I havent seen one run..

I thought...and perhaps wrong, because I know very little about these that the mini t and kyosho mini Z models were essentially the same...I hope I'm wrong here.

I watched the video (see the rcx link) RCX Show 2004
You've got to watch the vids...look to the bottom of the page..

anyway...the Kyosho mini z monster trucks were disappointing...they look like toys to me...which have there uses of course, but its not really what I pictured.

The videos don't show it up close so I couldn't tell if they were similar to losi mini T...

I'd love to see vids of one.. or even better in person

Well the mini-t and kyosho have nothing in common...AT ALL....the mini-t is great for "simulated offroad" like carpet with jumps and stuff...but will do well on a dirt track.
Here is a video of the mini-t directly from Team Losi VIDEO

But if you are concidering picking one up, i would highly recomend picking up a roller and using you radio equipment, the integrated esc/reciever and 4 wire servo kinda suck from what ive heard

I had my mini T with a Trinity micro monster motor doing wheelies all day today (till I brok the sterring servo)....Mini T is good cuz everything is so cheap you can trick it right out for $150 USD......Also hobby hobby has TONS of parts....

WAIT.... wait for the AE 1/18th scale 4WD MT. That's right 4wd. I've seen the Mini-T in action at Extreme Hobbies and it suck with just the 2WD. But in the parking lot or indoors then you can't go wrong. Or maybe it's just me but I now hate 2WD for off roading. 4WD all the way so way to go AE for 4WD 1/18th MT.

I have a Mini-T and have changed the motor to a tuned 300 from one18th.com. From all the motors out there this one seems to be the fastest other than brushless. I enjoy my Mini-T though, I even had it in the Rides section of the latest Xtreme RC magazine.

Granted the Associate has a couple things that the Mini-T should of had: oil shocks for one and a standard 3 wire servo. The RC18T from Associate is suppost to be available mid November.

And beleive it or not Trinity are releasing a 1/18 stadium truck, called the Itsy Bitsy Spyder (no joke) alone with there Spyder 1/7 scale nitro monster truck.

I've had a mini-t since they came out... and I can say they are a hoot. The only thing I have broken is the rear hub ~ that was after jumping it off of a picnic table and cart-wheeling about 20 times. Other than that, parts are cheap, and if you want to turn them into land missles, pick yourself up a brushless system.

As for handling, the truck has a slipper, so if set properly, it can help keep the front wheels pointed in the right direction ~ so waiting for an unproven 4WD vehicle may not be worth it.

And if you want to go the extreme route, upgrade the chassis to one of the SSG carbon fiber tubs/full aluminum parts/brushless system ~ you'll have a mini missle doing speeds in the 50 mph range.

PB

P.s. Oh and for the mini-z comparison, not even close... the mini-z is a 1/24th scale vehicle (similar in components to a radioshack vehicle). While the mini-t is basically a scaled down xxx-t!!!
