T-33 schemes

Hi Guys, Iam chasing up decent photos and documentation for Canadian T-33 colour schemes. I have not decided which way to go yet and likely will come down to best available images I can source. If anyone can point me toward some higher quality images of these schemes I would appreciate it...

Order of preference would be:

1. I really like the Snowbird support T-33 scheme but need better pics than this one.

2. Also the AETE looks very cool and would be my second choice.

3. The silver (natural metal) RCAF scheme could be interesting as well if better pics can be sorced.

Cheers- Marty

Re: T-33 schemes

We have our own local T-33, the "City of Windsor". Just enough pics on the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association site here to whet your appetite, but contact them and I'm sure they can provide some more:

p.s. I'd take some for you, but these 11 hour shifts tend to put a crimp in your personal time.

Re: T-33 schemes

Bruce Bender did AETE last year. Looks awesome. I'm sure he could point you to some resources.

Bruce is Young Guy here on RC Canada.

Re: T-33 schemes

This T-bird was in Baden Baden, W Germany and I worked on it for a number of years as a Airframe Tech. It was the first T-Bird to accumulate 10,000 hrs. The Kiwi you see on the Tail was the T-bird units designation but we were actually attached to 439 Sqn who were flying CF 104 Starfighters at the time. These pictures were taken around 1984

On the top wing the Lead and trailing edges were blue with the center being white. I had alot of rides in that airplane to airshows in Europe

Re: T-33 schemes

I have a set of 1/72 decals from Leading Edge for the Black Knights 414 squandron scheme I like that one.

Re: T-33 schemes

Thanks guys for the input.... Iam thinking I will likely now go with the Snowbirds support T-33 scheme due to limited and accurate documentation available for others. What I now need to source is a high res version and correct font for the sides - ARMED FORCES FORCES ARMEES

Also the white logo on outside of wing tip tanks, if anyone can assist with these or even some better quality images of the Snowbirds support T-33 that would be much appreciated.

Cheers- Marty

Re: T-33 schemes

Check museum websites and see what they have in their inventory...A lot of them ended up there, or on poles...

As a tribute to some terrific dedication and workmanship, here is a picture of Bruce's AETE CT-33
