Thanks Dave ..... found them ...

I'm blind as a friggin bat .... But thanks to contacts for giving me 40/20 vision for anything beyond 5 feet (great for driving/flying) .... anything closer (like a computer moniter or tinkering with a plane on the worktable) .... I'm screwed .... unless I put on some reading glasses (sort of like taking a medication to combat the side effects of some other med) .... but that's life for me ....

Re: Balsa wood sources.

I finally gave in, and asked the military eye people to set me up with glasses for reading and close up work, and I'm so pissed I didn't do it sooner. The glasses rock, I can do close up fine work so easily now.

not only that...I am going to fill the tires with helium.

I keep finding other projects to keep me from starting the Yak.....I think I am trying to hide from the big build.

They look so much nicer cartwheeling through the grass when made of bricks. The balsa one's barely last one revolution.

Bill as long as you have something big for the GMF 2:00 pm warbird scramble your fine, if not then GET building that Yak.

Putting together a 1/5 TF stang for this year so I can finally join in on the fun.

Called the number and it seems disconnected, does anyone know any other place in Ontario for balsa?
I am looking for 1/2" by 2" by 32 trailing edge (or triangle)

Re: Balsa wood sources.

Give www.amr-rc.com a try...they are now distributing balsa, bass, and light ply in Canada and at a great price.

Re: Balsa wood sources.

Well, my order came in from Balsawood Inc(AK Models)

I asked for medium grade and that's what I got. I am quite pleased with
everything I ordered;

Shipping, processing at the border came to about 70% of the order. So all up
here's within a fews cents the cost per sheet. All sheets 3"x36"

1/16 - 1.20 3/16 - 2.00 1/2 - 4.00 Liteply--1/8x12x24 - 5.10
3/32 - 1.30 1/4 - 2.40 Aircraft - 1/32x12x24 - 8.00
1/8 - 1.60 3/8 - 3.00 1/16/12/24 - 9.10

The plywood is really well priced, usually double this price at hobby shops.

The 3/8 and 1/2 balsa is really light. The rest is what you would expect when ordering
in bulk(no contest grade) but a nice balance and everything useable.

Hope this helps.
