Windy Days

Hey All
First off 'Happy Canada Day'
What's going on with this wind? I can't speak for everyone, but these winds are crazy. I am considering selling all my planes and buying kites?! Just kidding. If you aren't working, it's windy. By now the winds usually subside, but not this year yet. Maybe install some lights on a couple of my planes and fly at night when the winds finally die down. Thank God for flight sims!
What has it been like in other areas of Canada??
Just blowin' off steam........
Cheers.........Mikee

I went to do some flying today and it was up around 30-35km and gusting. Its been this way for a while, and the fog has been bad as well. I know alot of you guys don't have to deal with that but we sure do.

We had 30-50 kph winds with gusts; actually got stronger as the afternoon went on. The forecast called for 5-10 kph

We still had a good Canada day just chatting with folks at the field and working on the shelter.

Ah well, at least we were outside. I gotta admit though, these winds are keeping members away from the field.

Canada, another year older.....

Weather wise, near Peggy's Cove, it has been mostly foggy, a fair bit of rain, and usually a touch windy. Hard to get the grass cut. Drive 30 klicks (into Hellifax) it usually is clear, hot, and muggy.

Happy Canada Day to all of you- as far as the wind-blowing 35mph here in Sarnia- Don't know where that weather man gets his info- sure hope he is right for tomorrow when we have our anual Club Scale Ralley- he is calling for max 10 mph- we can handle that!

Flyin Winds

Winds have picked up here again also in Alta. Seems to be a cycle where it gets to hot and the moisture builds up in the skies wanting to spill it back down to mother earth.
It is usually good by 8:00 pm if its not raining!

Nuker,

Did you miss the six-legged winged members of your club?

Wind also a factor today at Otterville Fun-Fly.

Was causing some funky downdrafts on final that even the 40% were feeling. Not fun when you are 4 feet of the deck on final and downdraft causes plane to drop 3.5 feet.!

It kept a lot of guys on the ground... but it was a nice sunny day right to the end... Oh and the $1000.00 is still safe... No one came neer the barn today. Well except for a Blade CX, he made it through but clipped a rotor on the way out and spin into the grounsd... but that's cheating!
