Hey Shaun, some other options may be the MXS or the MXS-r. Dont be scared to check out the used aircraft that are in your area. The classified section on here contains many bargains that can maximize your plane and minimize the cost. Then lots of practice. Imac will make you a better pilot all around and is a blast to compete in.
Have fun.

Aren't all the extreme flight planes electric?

Re: looking to get into imac

no, EFs mid size (30cc) can be both, larger 50cc or more are typically for gas

I have a nib setup might fit your need, pilot rc extra 330sc (red arrow scheme) and a dle35ra and canister kit for 35ra.have flown both 30 and 50cc version. lots for power with the 35. Light plane, tracks great. IMAC or 3D ready.

Willing to sell for list price (you save tax and shipping). Pickup only. pm if your interested.

I am flying the electric version, and it does a pretty good job with the Advanced sequence. I would certainly recommend it. Unforunately the nitro version is out of stock.

Greg,

What size bat packs are you using? Are you able to do a coplete round (2 sequences) on one battery?

Re: looking to get into imac

I am running a Scorpion SII-5525, 195 kv on 12s 5000mAh batteries. 21x10 Xoar prop, at about 80 Amps, so 250 Watts/lb and 27.5 lbs of thrust. The plane weighs 13.5 lbs. Flight time is 7-8 minutes flying IMAC style, 2 sequences only take about 6 minutes.

Re: looking to get into imac

I started IMAC this time round with a BME Extra 330 and a 50CC engine..plane was nice but very heavy (almost 19 pounds). Two years ago I got a Pilot Rc SBach....moved all the gear over to it and came in at 15.5 pounds....discovered that yes indeed a plane can fly "light".

And I third the Futaba 8FG super..great radio. But if you insist on getting the Ford, well ok..
