Re: 2014 IMAC World Championships- Who's In?
This remains to be discussed but every effort will be made to come up with something fair and practical to all... I'll just put out an idea out there, we could look at proportional representation for example... if 1/5 of active pilots are in BC, then maybe 1/5 of slots could go to BC pilots (made up numbers) and they can duke it out locally - it's really just an example to get some brainstorming going... I haven't even put this specific grain of an idea forward to the SA committee, just talking for the sake of talking. I am really dedicated to finding a way to make it work, I believe this is an opportunity to bring us together as a community, nationally.

Re: 2014 IMAC World Championships- Who's In?
Going back to funding ideas...
Keep the ideas coming... I think it's important work at keeping the bar of entry as low as possible (if someone wants to do it as cheap as possible, they should be able to). It's also nice to have some self contained 'chunks' that are nice to put in front of a possible supporter. It's often more attractive for a sponsor to think "I can pay for the t-shirts" as opposed to "I can pay for 5% of this giant endeavour". Makes sense? It's just an example. We will also separate the 'basic budget' (can't really do without gas) from the nice to haves (t-shirts and plasma TVs ). It's important to have options, as everyone likes to fund something different. There has been talk of some companies having ready to fly airplanes available for competitors, on site. Would anyone be interested in that option (so, you can fly in without worrying about a trailer etc). Anyways for now let's continue brainstorming, all ideas welcome and then we can sort it all out. Isabel

There's a job for the SAC. Contact IMAC and ask for a list of Canadian pilots and their info. It's a good first step to getting the word out.

The only fair way to select team members is to have a fly off in a neutral location for all pilots in the country.

Re: 2014 IMAC World Championships- Who's In?
I see your point but I believe 'access' is also part of being fair, so we'll have to keep that aspect in mind as much as possible. We'll see where we stand based on the list of prospective pilots and do our best based on that.

We could host the 2014 NOIC on Labour Day weekend, 2014 in Sault Ste Marie, and perhaps with some nudging, we could get Mike Roxberry and crew to come up and help judge.

I'm sure many would say that's not central enough, although geographic central and IMAC central are two different answers. Fly Labour day and then the winners need to fly at the worlds the day after? That's not too practical. (Or was that sarcasm?)
