Would love to hear any opinions on the GH Airplanes from Great hobbies. Are they of descent quality? The price is attractive. Thanks for the help.

Re: GH Air...50cc, Good? or Not good?

Hey Man...

I haven't seen the GH up close, but i've seen the planes from the same factory under a couple different names. They are a reasonable quality... You may just want to watch the Incidence of the Rear stabs as they are often off by a fair amount. I have an 88" Yak built in the same factory as the GH Air ones. It's overall a good ARF, but will need a little mod'ing to go together properly.

There are slight oversights in the assembly from the factory, and for the price at GH, it's a good deal. For 3D, I'd be looking at the Edge or the Yak54, they both have low wing loading and are very stable in Stall/High alpha maneuvers.

For the money - the Cermark ARFs will get the job done too, but will need a little more work than most other arfs. It might be worth it, to take a look at some slightly higher priced models, so save yourself the time. It just all depends on if you want ease of assembly and trued incidences, or if you want to save a little money and tinker a bit on the way...

Hope that helps a little.

Ryan.

Re: GH Air...50cc, Good? or Not good?

Thanks for your reply. Good advise regarding GH Air. Peak models are also offering a good sale price and free shipping. what are your thoughts on those arfs. Sticking with the yaks is a great suggestion. Post stall characteristics are pretty important. I really appreciate your input. There is just so much out there to sort out into ( good and not so good ). Do you have any suggestions on manifactuers? Because of lack of knowlegde, I really do need quality to be there . In time , I will be able to spot flaws, but right now I have my hands full with just learning to fly. Thanks alot for you time.

Re: GH Air...50cc, Good? or Not good?

Well the YAK is ok Jim but buy the EF Extra 300 and you'll never look back! I have the Extra and it is awesome, superior build in my opinion.

As Jim says you get what you pay for. It may be a few more bucks but well worth it.

I concur with that. I've seen one up close and have seen it fly. It is built very nicely and flies like a dream.

Re: GH Air...50cc, Good? or Not good?

Lol! I have a smaller Yak also, so I've already been bitten by that bug!

When I move up to 100cc I'll be getting an Extra 260 or 300, I haven't decided on which one. I'll have at least a year to think about it, providing my new Sukhoi survives the end of this season and next!
