Hey All,
Just a question of curiosity. What did you pay for your last plane/kit to be shipped to you?

My last plane shipped was a Wildhare 28% Edge (ARF) out of the states. Cost me $56US by frd ex.

Hi.

Great planes G202 1/4 Scale ARF. BIG Box.

FED EX HOME DELIVERY: $7.99 U.S. from tower hobbies. It was within the U.S., however, so that probably has a bearing on the shipping cost.

shipping

Going the other way:

It cost me $45 CAD to ship a 30 sized heli to Atlanta via Canada Post (cheap method, 9 day delivery, not the 6 day).

It cost me $7.95 to get a 40-sized biplane kit sent to me (within the US, tho), but it cost me $8.95 to get $13 worth of decal paper and one can of decal fixative sent from Micro-Mark. Go figure. In fairness, I knew in advance what M-M was going to charge and ordered the stuff anyway. But I can't help from wondering if some of the mail order folks depend on shipping and handling fees for major income-earners. I appreciate the suppliers who charge actual shipping costs and use those suppliers every time I have a choice. Dzl

Just about all US retailers these days will ship a minimum $100US order free via UPS ground which means about three working days delivery usually ,a couple of days longer from California for example.
This applies to fairly large ARFS too,my GP Christen Iggle for example was shipped freight free to Sault Ste Marie MI.,from Tower Hobbies.

Well I haven't got it yet but my 87" Extreme Flight Yak 54 will cost US$ 78.00 from Georgia to Mississauga via FedEx Ground I believe.

These are FedEx prices and not inflated as Chris gives you his Zip Code, the box dimensions and weight and a link to the FedEx Rate Calculator. This is also shipping insured on US$700.00 value. The weight of the box is not the culprit, shipping by weight would yield about a $36.00 charge. The size of the box though incurs an oversized charge of about $24, the rest is insurance and taxes.

Still not a bad deal as the cost of shipping it to Buffalo NY is US$74.00.

I too have a problem with some suppliers charging "Shipping & Handling fees". I ordered some 3-views from the US and the supplier stated that it was a flat $3.00 for shipping with in the US and for Canada & Mexico add an additional $10.00. well I really wanted the drawing so I did. When I got the drawings they came folded in a plain brown 8.5" x 11" envelope with stamps totaling only US$ 1.85! OK an envelope will run $1 at most so why the hell did I have to pay another $10.15 because I live in Canada....RIP OFF!

I shipped both my contest models from the US Nats in Indiana to Buffalo NY via FedEx. Boxes are 80"Lx20"Hx11"W weight 35-40 lbs each full of airplane and clothes

Just under $100 US.

Cost about $150 CND to ship them from Toronto to Calgary via some no name outfit I cant even remember.....CanPar was the cheapest at like $60 for the pair but I was 2" over their dimensions. FedEx in Canada would not even touch them for some reason.

Cost $300 CND in oversize luggage fees each way with Air Canada to get them on the plane to Poland
