same boat

i am in the same boat as you bro lol. Last year i went ballistic with rc's. I regret it. I owned soooo many. I buy in within a month i sell buy sell buy sell. at one point i owned 4 cl-1's. don't ask why lol. But, i lost sooo much money doing that i added up on what i spent last year in rc and it was scary. I was stupid with my money last year and i am making a big change this year and going forward, own two rc's and stick to it. May be in a year or two i will change up rc's but, two is enough for me. Rc's are money pits. Anybody can be this hobby it's just the amount of rc's you have that make it a money pit. For example, at one point i owned a tmaxx, rc18t, cl-1 x2, and a tamiya m04m. Now, to maintain each vehicle was allot. You got to think about it advance parts, fuel, batts, rx's, tires, bodies, pt's (if racing) and the list can go on and on. I learned my lesson last year and vow not to make the same mistake agian. I Currently own to of the top vehicles imo, Team Associated RC8 and Team Associated B44. One is offroad nitro and one is offroad electric. I chose these two because, the design is amazing, parts support is amazing, durability is amazing and is easy to set up. The most important thing about associated is the price of there parts there cheap! The money i make now, can go as far as two vehicles not more. If i want to get another one i have to sell one. I only will deal with two and also only deal with associated. I did my research allot with these vehicles and thought about long and hard what i am going to race and use and came up with the b44 and rc8. Like i said anybody can be in this hobby just stick to one and what's in you budget. Any rc you get will be top quality (except knock offs from fleabay and other sites) and would satisfy you. If your not satisfied, upgrade (if upgradable) it don't just sell it you loose money like that. 1st, check your LHS for prices, info and brands they carry also what parts they can get easily. 2nd make a list of brands the LHS carry and parts for which brand they get the most. 3rd, nitro or electric get info from your LHS or internet about the advantages and disadvantages both power source. This is critical. 4th, decide on onroad or offroad.5th, do research and allot of it on the item you want make sure you can upgrade the vehicle because, it sucks when you get a vehicle and you can't upgrade it. 6th, when you have made your decision, go to your LHS and get your item! I think i went on and on here but, i just want to let people know, limit to what you can afford. Tekno.
