I think the rpm starter at 100% is too low if set to 17k. Set it to about 25k but keep the starter off set at around 19.

I honestly just think the starter maxs out literally at 17000 on 8.4 since it stalled there both starts with the starter 100%/cutoff at 17000/22000 and 12000/17000 so the starter was 100% and completely off which means the starter has nothing left to give. With a 30% loss of system voltage comes probably amperage loss as well so the starter can't dish out the power it puts out on the factory 12 volt system. If I spin the starter any faster the backemf just overpowers the battery voltage and brakes the clutch which probably disengaged it on the first run. It does spool up to 17k at a decent rate though so if I lean out the fuel ramp which technically should produce more power, it should just keep going as the starter will be out of the way at 17k anyways. The EGT was around 450 when it initially gets stuck at 17k and it caught around 650 so I got room to lean it out. If its already at 650 when it gets to 17k it should just keep going. I'll try it this weekend if the weather is clear. Wish me luck. Any improvement at this point will earn it a hug lol.

Think I got it the best its gonna get, starter turns off at 16k and it takes like 30 seconds to go from 16k to 18k and then it spools, flame isn't too bad, now I just have to find a faster starter motor to get that extra bit I need that fits in the can. I maybe even try manual air start just to see if its worth the extra effort.

Got it to start and run perfectly, just waiting for the festo line to show up so I can set my pump limit properly with the right lengths, etc.
